Back from a visit to Texas where we visited dear friends and new friends! Went to High Island and had a great birding adventure. Already planning an extended RV trip back in 2013. One of the trip highlights was seeing a yellow-green vireo. Purportedly this bird has rarely been seen at High Island. The guides from Tropical Birding confirmed the bird via field marks and pictures. Check out Dave Kutilek’s picture at www.birdingpix.com.

Beloved Gabrielle

I have been fortunate to be loved and owned by several pomeranians in my life. Sadly, Gabrielle passed away peacefully in her sleep this week. Gabrielle was a bright orange ball of fun. The one word to describe Gabrielle was “sweetness.” She will be missed. See you on the rainbow bridge Gabrielle.
The Rainbow Bridge Poem
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….
San Jose Night Photo Shoot
The Morgan Hill Photography Club had a Photo Shoot in San Jose… at NIGHT! I spent time shooting tail lights, headlights, and just lights in general. Terrific time. This shot captures the feeling of fun inside this great restaurant as the cars whiz by. Click on the picture for a larger view and to peak inside the windows.

San Jose Sharks Hockey
It is the time of year San Jose Sharks Hockey is VERY exciting…we are approaching Playoffs. This year the Sharks are in a very tight race and the season is yet to be decided. I took some pix at ice level before the game. Niemi was looking at the competition as he warmed up.
